1) We are now done all of our sound blends and have begun reviewing all sound blends by working on reading sentences and short paragraphs containing the sounds. This week, we worked on "le son on". 1) Click on the sound of the week tab to listen to the song "Guillaume Gorille". Can you find the sound of the week "le son ille/ill"?
2) Click on the French tab to practice the words containing the "ille/ill" sounds. Listen to the audio and practice saying the words on your own.
3) In Math, we are focusing on doubles as an addition strategy. Using a deck of cards (numbers 1-10 only or the cut out cards you made last week), put the cards face down, flip one card, double it and say the sum it makes.
For example: If i flip the number 2 I would say: 2 + 2 = 4 ( deux plus deux égale quatre)
Keep going until you get very familiar with the doubles for numbers 1-10.

Using a deck of cards with face cards removed (or by writing the numbers 1-10 on cut out pieces of paper), practice addition facts to 10 by making as many combinations as you can to show what two number added together, make the number 10.

3) We also celebrated the 100th day of school!! Click on the French tab to practice reading 100 sight words, keep working on these until you can read them all on your own.
4) Beside the 100 sight words is a 100th day of school poem we have been working on, continue practicing the poem at home.

3) To celebrate the various cultures in our classroom, we are seeing how many ways we can say bonjour and count from 1-10 in all the languages that we speak. If you speak a language other than English or French at home, please share with us how you say hello and count from 1-10. We will be posting it in the hallway as you enter our classroom for everyone to see!

3) We are continuing to practice our 2D shapes and are working on identifying these shapes in pictures and objects around the class room. Look around your home and describe at least 3 shapes that you see along with their colour. Record your answers in your writing notebook. Remember to also put an "s" when there is more than one of that shape.

1) Review all coloured word lists (under the sight word tab). We have been busy reviewing these this week and students will be assessed on their ability to read and identify the sight words.
2) Our sound of the week was "au, o, eau". Practice the song "Pauline Sauterelle". Can you find the sound of the week in the song?
3) We started a new unit on 2D shapes. Review the shapes we have learned so far by watching the shapes video in the Math tab
4) We are continuing to work hard on counting and practice counting, daily. We can now count all the way to 100!! (by 1s and by 10s!) Check out the videos under the Math tab to practice counting to 100 in French. There is also a picture of a 100s chart to practice counting on your own.

2) We have been working on writing sentences using the sentence starter "Pendant l'automne je vois" (during fall, I see). Under the French tab, use the fall vocabulary or halloween vocabulary and write a sentence saying 3 things that you see during fall.
Example: Pendant l'automne, je vois une citrouille, un tas de feuilles et la pluie.
Can you bump up your writing to a level 4 by adding either more words or colours to describe the words?

1) Click on the French tab to see some new Fall vocabulary we have been working on. Practice saying each word out loud. Can you say the words by only looking at the pictures?
2) We have been working on writing short sentences in French using sentence starters such as Je vois (I see), J'aime (I like) and Voici (here is). Using the fall vocabulary, write 3 short sentences, in your writing notebook, to describe what you might see during fall. For example: Je vois une citrouille. (I see a pumpkin). Sentences should be formed using the following structure, nothing too complicated. Je vois (fall vocab).

4)Find 10 objects in your home. Can you order them by height from smallest to biggest? (de plus petit a plus grand). What are 2 tools you could use in your home to measure these objects?

1) In your printing notebook, practice writing each of the words in the "liste jaune". Try writing each word twice. Remember that most letters should stay in between the blue lines, while some letters hang down to the lower red line (g) and some go up to the top red line (h).
2) Review our sound of the week (Olivier Coq-O). Can you find the "O" (pronounced like "uh" sound in the "Dans mon sac d'ecole il y a..." vocabulary? Remember that just because it is the letter O, does not mean that it makes the "O" sounds (pronounced like "uh")
3) We started a new Math unit on measurement and have been focusing on identifying objects that are the same size, longer, or shorter than one another. Find objects in your home that are plus long (longer), aussi long (the same size) and plus court (smaller) than your foot.
